CAT Exam 2017 will be carried out by IIM Lucknow in computer-based mode. The exam consists of three sections –
  1. Quantitative Ability (QA)
  2. Verbal and Reading Comprehension (DILR)
  3. Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
Maximum marks allotted to the question paper of CAT Exam 2017 will be 300. It will be held in the month of November 2017. Section-wise last minute CAT Preparation Tips

  1. Quantitative Ability (QA): 
To conquer Quantitative Aptitude section you need to learn the formulae. In the last week of your preparation you can refresh them from the list you have prepared during preparation time. If you are not good in calculations then take as many speed tests as you can to master the calculation speed with accuracy. Take up topic tests especially from Algebra, number system and permutation and combination as most of the questions come from these topics. Focus on the important topics only and the ones you have already prepared do not take anything afresh. It will confuse you unnecessarily. Take up mock test every day during the last week so that you have real time experience before going to the examination hall.

  1. Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VARC):

In this section questions are based on reading comprehension and parajumbles which requires a strong hold on language. Therefore, in the last minute of your preparation revise the word list prepared by you during preparation so that you can retain the difficult vocabulary with proper meaning and usage. Revise the rules of grammar to get the proper usage of language ethics in order to understand the given passage. Practice reading psychological, science, economics , medicine etc., related  topics or articles. It will help you to understand the think critically on the subject being talked about. Besides this take up mock test based on RC and parajumbles to take ample of thinking and analyzing practice

  1. Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DI & LR):

Logical Reasoning section generally has puzzles with authentic solutions. It can only be solved if you have good practice and hold on such puzzles. Take up topic tests and mock tests daily in the last week so that you gain confidence and accuracy in the subject.  In case you have committed mistakes in some questions look at the detailed solutions to understand the wrong turn taken in solving and improve in the next trial. But do not touch any new topic as it will give you nightmares and nothing else.
These are mostly puzzles. One may be naturally good at it, but you can get better with practice if not.  Increase your speed and accuracy and sharpen your mind to get the right answer at the right time.
All the above tips are sure shot ways to improve your percentile. These are the steps which will help you maintain accuracy and speed which is the only gateway to success. CAT Exam is not on solving more questions but to solve them correctly to get into the rank list to grab the dream study paradise.
